Network Accreditation

The West Midlands cycle of accreditation takes place every 3 years. Services are accredited in the first 2 years of the cycle with the last used for re-visits, especially for issues raised in the initial action plan.

Accreditation reports are sent to the Chief Executives of Trusts, the Deanery, the SHA workforce teams, Birmingham University (for undergraduate medicine). The reports are recognised as evidence to be submitted for external clinical governance visits (Health Commission) and QAA (HE quality assurance).

The Accreditation check-list is regularly reviewed by the Quality Group of the Library and Knowledge services Development Network to standards agreed by the UK Accreditation Forum.
